The Dunlap Institute for Astronomy & Astrophysics continues the legacy of the David Dunlap Observatory of answering fundamental questions about the Universe.
Their mission is to develop innovative astronomical instrumentation, including for the largest, most advanced telescopes in the world; to train the next generation of astronomers; and to foster public engagement in science.
The research of its faculty and postdoctoral fellows includes the discovery and characterization of exoplanets, the formation of stars, galactic nuclei, the evolution and nature of galaxies, cosmic magnetism, the early Universe and Large Scale Structure, and the Search for Extra-terrestrial Intelligence (SETI).
With internal and external communications mandates to expand the accessibility and understanding of the institute’s initiatives, the Dunlap Institute looked to differentiate themselves with a brand system that would function within the University of Toronto brand standards.
Very proud to share a glimpse at our new brand design system. The result of a great collaboration with Sovereign State, it truly reflects our vision and what we do at the Dunlap. Aligning with the strategy developed by the Dunlap Institute, Sovereign State developed a system with a set of modular elements that when integrated, would create a unique context of the institute’s work and create visual ownership within the category.
The modular system allows for a variety of graphic iterations of the brand throughout the collateral platforms – online and offline.
